Canals in Venice

Visiting Venice was always high on my bucket list, actually the whole of Italy was high on my bucket list! We started the day of on a walking tour of the city, which was taken by a local. Apparently in Italy you have to be Italian to be a tour guide, which I think makes the experience a bit more authentic.

After the walking tour we had a midday gondola ride, which just happened to be when the rain rolled in. Still an amazing experience, the gondolier was great entertainment!

We had lunch in the cutest Italian restaurant run by an Italian family

After lunch we wandered around a bit more and explored the beautiful streets of Venice on our own. Once it got too hot, we grabbed some gelato and headed to the Palace Gardens to relax.
